Actually, finding the teen actors for my music video was kind of fun. I first talked to people at school. Even if a person was not in theater, they may have been interested anyway since they enjoyed performing. Then, I asked my friends to do it even if they'd never acted before. Some times, people surprise you and can turn out really good at something they never tried. It was all about showing them how cool it would be. I had explained to them it was only for school and it should be really fun and chill, without being too serious. Another idea was to ask my friends if they knew any other person probably interested. Word of mouth went a long way in finding people. Teaming up with someone who knew a lot of students went a long way. Also, people seemed more comfortable working with someone they already knew. That's why I tried to get a group of friends involved. If I couldn't find any people who wanted to act, I looked for those who loved music or filmmaking-they were already ...

The camera I used was a Canon camera, and it was a little old. But it gave the video character in a way. The natural filter the camera had gave the video a more teen production-like feel, which I really liked. While editing the clips together, they looked choppy. But no worries because I managed to make them look much smoother and joined together. While editing, I wanted it to look fun but also incorporate the love story into the video. So what I did was collect all the clips of the dancing and laughing, and stuck them together, and made them fly back a little quickly. And with the romantic scenes, for example, Addyson and Kevin looking at each other, I made sure those clips took a little longer of the music video time. Once that all looked good, I watched the video a couple times to make sure there weren't any errors or mistakes and sent it off for my group to look at. Once they told me it looked good, I was all set.

After we finished filming, I went home and uploaded the videos. I got my computer and started editing the video. I first got the part of the song we needed and put it on the website cap cut, which is what I was using to edit the video. I made sure the clips were short so it wasn't too boring. I lined up the clips with the corresponding parts of the song. As well as when Addyson and Kevin look at each other from across the room. It took a little around 40 minutes to edit all the clips together. Once that part was done, I added text to sync with the first three lyrics of the song. Which included "this Friday night" just for 5 seconds in the beginning. Then, at the end, I edited the music to sync out slowly to make the clapping and cheering slowly fade out. I did this to make the impression that it's the end of the video. And two of the party people saw them and cheered for them after they found each other.

Today, we did the ending scene. I got Addison, aka the main girl, and I got Kevin, aka the love interest, together to discuss what they would do. I told them they were going to act like they fell for each other in making the video and end it with a kiss. It took a couple of takes since they were nervous and awkward, but I finally got the scene I needed and called it a wrap for filming. After that, I cleaned up our set. Made sure everything was cleaned and not messy and watched all the clips as a group. We all decided that they looked good and didn't need to change anything. Or redo any of the scenes. Then, I was sure that it was ready for me to edit. I got everyone to their cars to get home safely and went home to upload the videos from the camera to my phone.

Saturday, November 23rd, my group and I started filming in the backyard of my group member Kasey Sabrin. Before I started with the filming, I played the song to the group and explained what part we were using and what scenes went with what parts of the song. After that, I directed most of the video. I showed and explained to the actors what to do, when to do it, and how. I connected my phone to the speaker so there was music to dance to, so we didn't have to have the same song playing repeatedly. My goal was to ensure everyone was having fun so the music video would look authentic and fun. After that, I made sure to get all the dancing scenes right. I looked over them on the camera, made some tweaks, and rerecorded some clips. Then, the dancing portion of the video was complete. It was also a little cold, so the party outfits had to be tweaked a little, but it turned out good in the end. The tweaks made it look like a real teen party and not just a fake set.

Planning Music Video

Image
Props:  We are using red Solo cups for the soda drinks. For food, we have Papa John. I wore a party hat from Kasey's closet when dancing. For the music, we used a JBL box speaker. Costumes: In our music video, our costumes were casual party attire. I decided to wear jeans and a long tight t-shirt, and so did the rest of the girls except for Addyson, who whore shorts and a crop top. Some of the girls also wore jackets since it was a little cold.  Schedule: On 11/6.24, we did our research for conventions and codes of ways to shoot the video.  On 11/11/24, our group will establish props, costumes, locations, and backup plans. On 11/13/24, our group will create a 12-box storyboard for our music video. On 11/23/24, our group will film all the scenes needed.  On 121/1/24, our group will finish editing the video and add the backtrack song to the production. Location: Our main location was Kasey's backyard. Her backyard consists of a pool, a dining area, a kitchen area...
