Filming

The actor playing Brad and I met today to continue our schedule of filming; however, since one of the key members of our group was unable to make it, we had to change our plans somewhat by now only filming Brad's bedroom scenes. We proceeded to the filming location (Rowan's house) directly from school and began filming, but just like every other day, we had our share of bloopers and needed several takes per scene, particularly when it came to adjusting the camera angle for a specific shot. We had to get the camera in perfect alignment for Brad's reflection in the mirror, while ensuring the filming equipment wouldn't show up in the reflection, and after figuring out the camera angle, we went through about three takes to get a good one-shot. The most challenging camera angle of the day was a transition of Brad walking from his bedroom to the bathroom, which took a surprisingly long time (15 minutes) for us to capture a good five-second transition shot of Brad. We encountered difficulty in establishing an alignment for the camera due to the alignment of the camera's tilt being awkwardly positioned, and due to several interruptions caused by Lorena's shadow being visible in the background. Rowan's laugh continued to slow down the process as he kept laughing when taking each of the shots; however, we were able to once again get everybody dialed back in and lined up together. As soon as we got that five-second sequence done that we really needed (after that we only had the last bathroom scene), we knew we were home free as we continued on with our setup shots for this is just like our first set-up shot as we needed to angle the lens correctly so we could see the mirror's reflection properly There was extra emphasis on making sure that the camera wouldn't be in the mirror shot after we wrapped out production for today.
