How to make a short film

In today's blog I will be continuing my research by analyzing a video on how the production of short film works. The video provided important feedback that I will need to apply to my short film. Below I will discuss important points I have gathered from the video.

This video was a very good resource, it talked about the technical and creative aspects of creating a film. One major thing they said was to focus on one topic not multiple, so you do not overwhelm yourself or the audience.

The second thing the video said that was very important was the planning and script writing. It states that the screen play creates the base of the films. It also states that the script is important because it improves the creativity and logic of the films. I will use both of these in the same way I did last year for my final task. The only difference is that now I have a better understanding of the importance of script writing and planning.

The third thing the video advised was how you need to budget correctly and have a strong crew to assist you along the way. It also explained the importance that you do not need the most high end equipment to make a high quality film. This is very good for my team and I because I will be using my phone. I will only use what I have for this project.

The last takeaway from the video is how important it is to be flexible during the entire process. Even though there is a plan, things happen and changes may have to be made. So, I have to be open to other options and not be closed minded. That is one issue I had last year there were always issues with the time to film or the weather, making it so we had to adapt. But this year I will be even more flexible. This will hopefully make the short film have an even better chance of being successful!

After watching and carefully analyzing the film I feel more prepared for this project. I am so thrilled to start the process of making our short film.
