Editing Scenes
For the scene where I walk down the stairs to grab snacks, I wanted the viewer to be able to hear the girls upstairs talking. Unfortunately, the camera didn't fully capture their voices so I edited them in. I enhanced the volume on only the background with an app and it worked. You could hear the girls upstairs as well as my footsteps on the stairs while walking down. Soundtrack editing provides realism and narration for me. It's all about harmoniously mixing ambient sound, leveling, and layering. I listen for good mixing to create a sophisticated, immersive film experience. When mixing background noise, I start by choosing the appropriate ambient sound and importing it into my editing software. I overlap tracks to create depth, normalize volume, add reverb, and eliminate unwanted noise to achieve a natural mix of sound. Finally, I sync the sound to the vision and complete it.
