Our Pitch

 Pitch A: A group of friends decides that this summer will be their best yet, but things don't turn out as they'd expected.

Pitch B: The world is a perfect place where nothing can go wrong and everyone is happy. But who said that it was all real?

Pitch A discussion: The pitch "A group of friends decides that this summer will be their best yet, but things don't turn out as they'd expected." would seem very fun to create because it gives suspense and unawareness about what could happen. I would love to be able to create that and put it into film. The pitch's promise of a beautiful summer, perhaps with darker, unexpected turns to heighten the tension, is an amazing idea. Because the film depicts friendships that fall apart in the face of unanticipated dangers, the thriller will be emotionally captivating. Because excellent thrillers allow the tension to grow gradually, that innocent-sounding opening is a great place to start. Character-driven storytelling, where each person approaches the problem differently, can offer even more tension. 

Pitch B discussion: The pitch "The world is a perfect place where nothing can go wrong and everyone is happy. But who said that it was all real?" would be a very interesting thing to depict in a film. This is because it challenges everything the characters have ever known, and opens up a whole new world of possibilities and answers. Because dystopian films demonstrate a false perfect world, they capture the attention of the watcher and force them to think about their own society. This film has the potential to be intellectually stimulating, as the watcher can look for clues that this perfect world is an illusion. I would love to turn this idea into a film because dystopian films not only are captivating but can also be a subtle critique of the world that our society is in.

My group and I have decided to choose pitch B "The world is a perfect place where nothing can go wrong and everyone is happy. But who said that it was all real?"  because we think it would be very fun and interesting to film. It would also be easier to film for example, in a house than to film a vacation.
