Movie Convention: What happened to monday?
Genre Research: What Happened to Monday?
The elements and conventions of the dystopian genre of "What Happened to Monday?" depict a seemingly perfect society masking oppressive control and forcing the characters to uncover hidden truths. Other conventions from both movies focus purely on what the future will uphold and different theories of what the future will perceive.
Some conventions I liked about the movie "What Happened to Monday?" were how there were children born on each day of the week, and how the society they live in now is only accepting of one child belonging to a parent. Another convention is when the sisters lose one of them to the government and they all end up working together to uncover the truth and expose the moral cost of the system's illusion of order for one child
Some conventions of the movie I did not like are how they're being excessively violent, it was very graphic. Another convention was the lack of character depth and how it focuses more on the action than the sisters themselves.
