 Common Camera angles, movements, and shots:

Angles- high angles, low angles, and point-of-view shots Movements- zooming, tilting, and tracking

Shots- Establishing shot, close-ups, extreme close-ups, and wide shot Common Mis-En-Scene:

Costume- darker colors, casual

Lighting/color- low lighting, dark colors

Acting- displays tension

Makeup- casual, natural

Props- weapons

Set- often in cities or confined spaces

Common Editing:

Cutaway, fade in, fade out, eye-line match

Common sound:

Diegetic sound, non-diegetic sound, ambient sound, dialogue

Examples of films:

Gone Girl, Nightcrawler, Prisoners, The Prestige

Elements that I like about thrillers are the horror aspect of them and the plot twists. This is because I love horror films and I love uncertainty about the plot.

Elements that don't appeal to me include the suspense and tension. This is because it sometimes stresses me too much
