Music Video Pitch

Pitch 1 will be Last Friday Night, by Katy Perry. For this video, we would start with a big pool party with everyone dancing and having fun. One main character in the video acts very star-struck by what's going on around them, as well as a little confused. They start having fun and dancing with the other partygoers. After a little bit of dancing and having fun, their crush goes up to the main character and goes to kiss them. The main character then wakes up from a loud alarm because it was all a dream. I would very much like to do this pitch because it is very fun and intriguing and includes a plot twist. 

Pitch 2: The song chosen is Cooler than Me by Mike Posner. In the video, the 2 main characters, a jock
, and a nerd are presented. The jock is always picking on the nerd while the music is playing. Then, the nerd gets a glow-up and is suddenly just as good-looking and maybe even better than the jock. Afterward, the jock would be the one who is singing. Because then, they would be the one who thinks the other is cooler than them. 

My group and I decided to choose pitch one Last Friday night. We chose this pitch because we think it's fun and entertaining. The second pitch isn't as fun, and it would be harder to do. It would be harder to do because we would have to film in a school and we don't have the resources for it. And for pitch 1, we could just film it in a backyard setting. As it would be at a real-life party.

For this film, my group and I used my own camera. So, I had to transfer the videos to my phone and edit the movie. This was a lengthy process but I did a good job. I got all the clips, good and bad, and watched all of them. I got the best clips and left the bloopers and unnatural clips behind. Once I got all the clips and cut some of them for smoother transitions from each scene. I then made sure the lighting was perfect. In some of the clips I did have to edit the coloring to make it appear a little brighter but also still keep that weary effect by making it have a little shadow-like effect.  With that, I moved on to the sounds. For the scene where I am in bed in silence, I wanted to have a glass-breaking sound. So, what I did was when my group went to break the glass for the next scene I recorded the sound on my phone. I then layered that sound onto the film and it came out just as I imagined.

Film Websites and Postcards

  When researching film websites and postcards, I found a website and a postcard for the movie Love, Rosie. The website is pretty simple. It includes the postcard with all the information about the movie, including: Genre: Comedy, Romance; Director: Christian Ditter;  and  Producers:  Robert Kulzer and Simon Brooks. It also included a short description of the movie and a trailer. I liked the addition of the description of the movie, so those who haven't watched it can read it and get intrigued to watch it. Although I think the website itself should've included more information.  The postcard for Love, Rosie included the main actors in an embrace, the title design up front, the actors' names, and a short sentence on the movie topic. I especially liked the short, singular sentence because it can attract people to the movie by making them wonder what it could mean. There wasn't anything I didn't particularly enjoy.
